Recap

I've got several ideas bouncing around in my head for upcoming blog posts.  I just can't get them to make sense yet...this happens often.  Until that happens (I encourage you NOT to hold your breath while you're waiting) I'll post a recap of some recent activities and happenings.

-I'll be the first to tell you that I had no idea that Easter was approaching until it was 6 days away.  I was having a conversation and I heard someone mention something about Easter and before I knew it I was reeling and shocked at my lack of knowledge on the matter.  Easter comes every year you'd think I'd look at a calender and not be a ding dong. Despite my lack of Easter preperation I'm happy to report that Easter 2012 was one of the best Easters I can recall in quite sometime.  We laid low and had a nice relaxing cookout with family and I really enjoyed focusing on the real meaning of Easter and allowing some of the commercial aspects of the holiday to fall by the wayside.  Success!

-The little boys have begun the transition back to bio mom.  So far we've had 2 full day visits and this week we'll tackle the first overnight visit.  The transitions tend to be very hard on the kids and that is proving itself true in this situation.  It's hard for a 2 year old to understand the back and forth between parents.  We are really focusing on getting in as much quality time with them as possible.  I want to look back on this time and not have any regrets on how we spent our time with them.  I'm learning to pick our battles and eliminate all outside "activities".  The only thing that is important right now is making sure that our boys are being taken care of.

-I love my Kindle.  Allen got it for me for Mothers Day last year and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.  And now I can say I have a Kindle Fire!!!  Yay!!!!  I really like it...Ethan LOVES it.  I'm not able to pry it from my 7 year olds hands very often...but it's educational right?  That's what I'm telling myself.  Angry birds=improved hand/eye coordination.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it.  At the very least it's a great bargaining tool that I'm using in my advantage.

-We have a very busy 2 months ahead of us.  We have packed schedules for the next 9 weekends!  Yikes!  Between birthday parties, day trips, surgery, weddings, graduations, vacation, and lots of other activities we will be doing good to remember our names by the time it's all said and done.  I'm secretly grateful for the busy schedule...it will keep my mind off the fact that we'll be a family of 3 instead of a family of 5.

Until next time....
Peace out!
