Lessons and Observations

I've been able to learn and observe quite a bit since I've been nailed to the couch/bed.  Allow me to share some of the things I have taken away from my week of bed rest.

1.  Ethan is a lot more perceptive than I thought.  His teacher asked me if I was doing OK because Ethan told her all I do is sleep on the couch "for all the day".  I told her briefly of my recent health problems and assured her I'm not a drunk who has to sleep it off during the day.  Kids do say the darnedest things!

2.  I am not the only person who lives here that has the capability to clean the house.  I am a control freak and I do not like to allow others to do things because I think they won't do them to my standards.  So this week I learned that just because it's different doesn't make it wrong.

3.  Speaking (or typing) of cleaning you won't believe the things you can add the your to-do list when your confined to the couch!  I have seen all kinds of things that need to be dusted, wiped, vacuumed, etc.  So just as soon as I'm feeling better there will be some serious deep cleaning going on around this house.

4.  We need a new couch.  I think I've ruined it from all my wollering around this week.

5.  Once you get good and comfortable you either need the remote which is ALWAYS across the room, or your phone rings which is also ALWAYS across the room.  Or the dog will suddenly need to go outside to potty and the door is ALWAYS across the room.

6.  I have amazing family and friends who have made this predicament as easy as possible.
