Red Velvet Cookie Balls

Wanna know my favorite thing about my Sister in Law?

When she finds an awesome recipe SHE SHARES IT!

Sidenote:  There are TONS of other fabulous things too...but I'm stuck on food at the moment.
She forwarded me an e-mail the other day with this recipe and I began to salivate.  Immediately this recipe went on my "I will make this before I die" list.

What better day to make something red and sweet with chocolate in it than Valentines Day?

I didn't want to post the recipe until I tried it...sometimes it LOOKS like a great idea.  Then you realize it's a great idea for a culinary master...I am not that.  This recipe passed the test.  Even a klutz like me make these suckers.  And what I mean by "me" is.  I crushed the oreo's and Allen did the rest.  I make a mess with melted chocolate, and I also prefer to eat it by the spoonfuls.  Whatev.

Regardless.  Make these!

Red-Velvet Cookie Balls

1 pkg. (8 oz.) Cream Cheese, softened

34 Golden Chocolate Creme OREO Cookies, finely crushed (about 3 cups)

1/2 tsp. red food coloring

2 packages milk  Chocolate, melted
MIX cream cheese, cookie crumbs and food coloring until well blended. SHAPE into 48 (1-inch) balls. Dip in melted chocolate; place on waxed paper-covered baking sheet. Top with sprinkles.
REFRIGERATE 1 hour or until firm.

NEXT I'm gonna mix it up a little bit and use regular oreos and dip them in white chocolate.  I'm a rebel like that.
