News Years Eve Project combo!

I was fortunate enough to get my very own cricut for Christmas!  No not an insect of my very own but the fabulous cutting machine!!  We didn't have plans for New Years Eve so I though it was a wonderful opportunity to put together a project I've had in mind for some time.

One of the goals I am working towards in 2011 is speaking positive things over my children.  It is so easy to constantly speak negative words over them and I am trying to put a stop to that.  They have enough to overcome they don't need their parents to speak negative words over them too.  So over the door frames in the boys room are positive biblical words (thank you handy dandy cricut for making this look nice!) I intend to speak positive and meaningful things over my children every day multiple times a day.  Here are the words I choose for the boys.  They may change through the year but I prayed over what words to use and God layed these heavily on my heart.  I will pray and speak these words over the boys every time I see these. I am in and out of there room frequently so it will be a great reminder.

Endurance:  I pray endurance for Ethan to run the race set before him.  To rise up on the wings of eagles and to run and not grow faint.  Endurance to complete the task at hand and do it with excitement!  Endurance to complete his classwork when goofing off seems like a lot more fun.  Endurance to pray through his problems when picking up medications, alcohol or other substances is what is cool.  Endurance to read and study the word of God when video games seem like the better choice.

Courage:  I pray for my boys to have courage to stand up for what is right, to stand up for Jesus and the principals He stands for, to be courageous when facing un move able mountain The courage to climb when retreating is what is easy.  Courage to be kind when others are being mean, Courage to lend a helping hand when no one else will, Courage to not laugh when someone tells a joke that is not appropriate, Courage to stand up for someone instead of make fun of them.

Strength:  The strength to know what they believe and stick to it.  Strength to face challenges and obstacles.  Strenth to love, strength to be compassionate, strength to believe.

I can't speak these things over my children without also praying them over my life and Allen's life.  If they see us exhibiting these traits they are more likely to also show these characteristics in their life as well.

What words are you speaking over your spouse or children?  What words are you speaking over yourself?  Speak words of love, wisdom and grace over those you love and yourself.  It will make a difference.

I did the same for Ashley's room I'll share that in another post!  Get excited about it guys!
