Praise!

One of the blogs I read daily is hollyfurtick.com.  She is a stay at home mom and wife of Stephen Furtick pastor to Elevation Church in Charlotte.  Today she posted on praising our children.  She had gotten the idea from Michelle Dugger.  I also watched the same episode and wanted to share with you her thoughts and mine.  You can read Holly's blog here.

Someone once told Michelle Duggar that you are to praise your children 10 times more then you correct them.  And praising them in front of others multiplies the praise.  For example if you praise your child in front of 3 other people its like praising your child 3 times. 

So after hearing that I really started trying to apply this in our home.  It is easier said than done let me tell you that!  But you can see the boys pride swell and they glow after receiving praise especially in front of others, and then I notice that behavior popping up more and more!  So I am going to try and continue this.  Praise 10 times more then correct, and praise in front of others.
