Christmas County Spelling Bee

As I mentioned in my last blog I am working on a Christmas Musical for the kids at church.  The musical I chose is called "Christmas County Spelling Bee".  And let me tell you know it is sooo sweet.  We had our first practice last night and the kids responded well and I really feel that the kids will enjoy it.

I was talking to Erica my best friend about a musical we did as kids at Cowee.  Its crazy how vivid those memories are and how precious they are to recall.  I want that for every child, to be involved in something.  There is something to be said to dedicate yourself to seeing something through to completion.  To look at what a hot mess the first practices were and then how wonderful the finished product was.  It gives hope to kids that as hard as things may be at first it will get better.  But more important than anything else I want them to sing to an audience of One.  I want them to sing and praise Jesus.  If children don't learn how to praise and worship how can they be expected to do it as a teenager and adult?

The first time I heard the preview to  "Christmas county spelling bee" I felt drawn to it.  It teaches the kids the many different names of Jesus.  How great is that?  When my children are in need of guidance and looking for the right decision I want them to call on the Wonderful Counselor!  When my children are in need for God to provide their needs I want them to call the name of Jehovah!  God our provider!  When my children are torn in their spirit and seeking peace I want them to know Jesus is the Prince of Peace.

I will keep you updated on the progress being made but I am excited beyond words!  Your prayers are greatly appreciated, there are little souls in need of Jesus and my prayer is that this play will lead them into a personal relationship with Jehovah, The Prince of peace, our wonderful counselor.
